A thangka is a Tibetan Buddhist painting on cotton, silk appliqué, usually depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala.
Here I did the painting on paper and then sliced and pasted it over a black cloth. I wanted to achieve a contemporary multi-panel painting look. Here it is.
This painting was done on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
